GTA Moving, Priced by the Hour
MD Moving is a Richmond Hill based moving company that charges by the hour and publishes the rate on the page. No form to fill out before you find out what a move costs, and no guessing between here and a dozen other GTA movers who all hide the same number.
How the hourly rate works
The rate is $165 per hour for a 2-person crew, with a 3 hour minimum on every booking. If a job needs more hands, an extra mover is billed at $55 per hour on top of the base crew.
That's the whole model. No flat quote pulled out of the air, no mystery surcharges that show up on the invoice. You watch the clock the same way we do.
How long a move actually takes
The rate only means something once you know roughly how many hours a job runs. These are typical ranges, not promises, because stairs, elevators, parking distance and how much is already packed all move the number.
- Studio: about 3 to 3.5 hours
- 1 bedroom: about 3 to 4 hours
- 2 bedroom: about 4 to 6 hours
- 3 bedroom: about 6 to 9 hours
- 4+ bedroom: about 8 to 13 hours

MD Moving is headquartered in Richmond Hill and runs crews across York Region, into Toronto, and out to Durham, Peel and Halton. That covers Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Markham, Aurora, Newmarket, King City, Stouffville, Thornhill and Georgina in York Region; Toronto, North York, Scarborough and Etobicoke; Pickering, Ajax, Whitby and Oshawa in Durham; Mississauga and Brampton in Peel; and Oakville and Burlington in Halton.
Every one of those runs starts from the same base, so the crew and the truck are never coming from somewhere else on the far side of the city.
What's included, and the one thing that isn't
Packing materials are supplied as part of the service. The only extra charge is for heavy items over 250 lbs — a piano, a safe, a pool table, oversized furniture — and that gets confirmed with you before the move is booked, not discovered on moving day.
