What a residential move looks like, hour by hour
The crew arrives with the truck, walks the space with you for a couple of minutes, then starts loading. A studio or bachelor apartment usually wraps in 3 to 3.5 hours door to door. A one-bedroom runs 3 to 4 hours. A two-bedroom is typically 4 to 6 hours, a three-bedroom 6 to 9 hours, and a four-bedroom house 8 to 13 hours. Those ranges cover loading, drive time between addresses, and unloading.
Every job is billed hourly, so the clock reflects the actual work in front of the crew. More furniture, more stairs, or a longer drive between addresses means more time - not a flat surprise added at the end.
What the hourly rate includes
Every job starts with a crew of 2 movers at $165 per hour, with a 3 hour minimum. If your home needs more hands to move faster, an extra mover is $55 per hour.
The only extra charge is for heavy items over 250 lbs - a piano, a safe, a pool table, oversized furniture - and that charge is confirmed with you before booking, not sprung on you at the truck.
Houses, apartments, and condos move differently
A detached house usually means more square footage but easier access - a driveway, a front door, no elevator to schedule. An apartment or condo building adds its own logistics: elevator booking, building insurance paperwork, and a loading dock window that isn't yours alone. Both run on the same hourly rate; the difference is how much of that time goes to the building versus the boxes.
