North on Yonge, past Aurora

Newmarket is a few minutes further north than Aurora from our Richmond Hill shop at 10330 Yonge St, Unit 1. It's still a straightforward run up Yonge Street, and we do it often enough that our crews know the town, from the Main Street core to the newer streets out past Mulock.

Main Street heritage homes need a careful hand

The heritage homes around Main Street and Water Street are older stock: narrow staircases, tight hallways, doors and trim that weren't built for modern furniture. Moving these takes more care, and usually more time, than a newer house the same size. We plan for that when we estimate the job instead of guessing.

Glenway, Stonehaven and Woodland Hill family moves

Newmarket's newer neighbourhoods, Glenway, Stonehaven, Woodland Hill, run bigger. These are largely 3 and 4 bedroom family homes, which means more furniture, more boxes, and a longer day than a condo move.

• Families moving with kids often add packing help to free up moving day itself
• Driveway and street access is generally easy in these subdivisions, which keeps loading fast

How the hourly rate works

The base crew is 2 movers at $165 per hour, with a 3 hour minimum, and that rate is on our site before you talk to anyone. A three or four bedroom Newmarket home often needs a bigger crew for part of the day; an extra mover runs $55 per hour.

Heavy items over 250 lbs, a piano, a safe, a pool table, are the only add-on, and we confirm that cost with you before booking.

What a typical Newmarket move takes

A one-bedroom condo near Yonge and Davis usually runs 3 to 4 hours. A three-bedroom home in Glenway or Stonehaven typically runs 6 to 9 hours, and a larger four-bedroom in Woodland Hill can run 8 to 13. Heritage homes on Main Street often land at the higher end of their size bracket because of the access.
